Warum? Lest selbst, in diesem Interview! Was macht Eurer Moringa-Pulver so besonders? WERDE BAUMPATE - SO EINFACH GEHTS!
The first time I met Raj Jiwan was on the International Yoga Day in Mallorca. She taught a Kundalini Class at Tramuntana Flow in Sa Cabaneta, a beautiful Yoga and Retreat House. She was wearing white clothes, a turban thingy on the head. Different. Yes, Kundalini is different than conventional Hatha practice. With Raj I had my second kundalini experience and I remember after chanting, a lot of pranayama and energetic exercises, I went home happy and full of energy. And with the conclusion, that Kundalini should be part of a yogic practice. But, yeah, let's listen to Raj Jiwan, this power- and delightful young teacher from Mallorca! ;-) SAT NAM. Who are you and how did Yoga come into your life? I was born Philippa Hughes in Mallorca. My spiritual name is Raj Jiwan. The shift from Philippa to Raj Jiwan happened in 2005 when I felt a pull towards yoga even though I didn’t really know what “Yoga” was. At a holistic fair in the UK I stumbled onto a book that would literally change my life. It was the “Woman’s book of Yoga.” I started to practice the yoga outlined in the book and immediately noticed real changes in me. For example, I had more energy; I was less moody and I felt less lost, so I kept it up. I had no idea, however, that this book would literally change the course of my life. By 2010 I had left my cushy job in the Yachting world to go to my first of several teacher trainings. Why Kundalini - what fascinates you? I have always said Kundalini Yoga found me. Right from the first moment I started to practice the most basic of Kundalini technology, I began experiencing real changes to both my physiological and physiological being. I could see the changes happen and I found this amazing and a little unnerving! My first teacher training ultimately completely changed the course of my life. Kundalini technology changes you at the cellular level and cleans out your limiting beliefs. Change is not easy but Kundalini Yoga provides some easy tools to help you along the way, in fact, once you start practising, change happens without you really being conscious. It starts on the inside but is quickly visible on the outside too. You are saying, that your commitment to your students is to eliminate limiting beliefs, identify the own rhythm and enhance the quality of life. It sounds very therapeutic. To be a Kundalini Teacher, is it like being a life coach? Maybe the term life coach is too limiting and also focuses on me as a teacher, when in reality it's not about me but about the tools that Kundalini provides my students. The technology of Kundalini yoga is broad and includes many therapeutic aspects. Think of it as a yogic technology that upgrades the operating system that is you. Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo. You are a mother. And you are working as a doula. What is your message especially for women? In the prenatal yoga classes I teach, I see women who fear childbirth, mostly because they have lost touch with themselves, their bodies and the natural world around them. By contrast, if we learn how to be intouch with our inner self and trust our intuition we can go into labour with another perspective thereby allowing the birthing process to unfold naturally. Learn how to meditate. Meditate!. I am a young mother too and life sometimes can be quite challenging. How can mothers still fulfill their own needs? Any helpful Kundalini exercises? ; ) Yes, try and meditate in a quiet space that is yours for at least 3 minutes a day. Then increase the meditation to 11 minutes, then 32 minutes. There are specific meditations I can recommend but just meditate on what you want to change without any prejudgements is a great place to start. Which Yoga book was the most empowering for you? - A woman’s book of Yoga by Hari Kaur Khalsa - Outobiography of a Yogui by Paramahansa Yogananda - Masters Touch. Gurucharan Singh Khalsa/ Yogui Bhajan. Recently you started “Pop Up Yoga“. I love this idea, tell me more about it! The idea was born out of my desire to make Kundalini yoga more accessible, practical and economical for everyone. I pop up in your neighborhood, get the community together, practice and deepen our consciousness, all the while having fun! It doesn’t get any better than that. Where can we meet you and are there any upcoming workshops you can recommend? You can find out where I am going to be by checking the calendar section of kundaliniraj.com or on Facebook where I post the weekly PopUp Yoga locations. Also, in the fall I’ll be starting regular classes in Binissalem as well as offering communities that can bring 4 or more people together the opportunity to have a semiprivate class at the time and location of their choice. I organized Mantra Night's where we get together, meditate and sing Mantras. Finally, I also give private classes. Prices range from a donation of 10,- for the PopUp Yoga to 15,- for the semiprivates and 60,- Euro for a private class. You are thankful for... Life, a beautiful community of loving and conscious beings and the lessons I continue to learn every day! Raj Jiwan / Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Or is it "moving is her thing"? Cause all she needs and does is movement - moved by an inner voice to dance. The Soul Motion Dance. Its impact became a life changing affair. Since then, Katrin Ackfeld is dancing along the path of her life. As a Soul Motion Teacher she shares her wisdom and guides a lot of other feet & hearts to a new horizon. And now, there is only one thing left to say: Guys, move it!Hi Katrin, you are offering "special" dance classes in Mallorca. Tell us more about you and your Dance Space Mallorca! Dance Space Mallorca was born out of my wish to offer a space where people can meet to dance, to feel free and to have a good time. In my dance classes I offer this space now and it´s growing and growing. I am a Soul Motion teacher and a Nia Blue Belt teacher and within one of these two dance forms you can find your own space to move with yourself and others and experience something beneficial for yourself. I remember a Nia class I did years ago. It was kinda "crazy", very experimental and improvisational. It was fun, but you have to open up for it. What is the deeper purpose of Nia? Nia is created as a holistic program for body, mind and spirit. It is based on choreographies, the students follow the teacher´s movements but in their own way and so you can re-connect perfectly to your body. Nia is a wonderful way to start again to move yourself as it guides you straight into the movement and you cannot get lost. In Nia we have freedance and floorplay parts and its first principle is "The Joy of Movement". So it is really fun to dance it, but it includes as well the emotional and spiritual part of yourself which makes it very different to Zumba i.e. The other dance you offer is Soul Motion. You recently graduated as a Soul Motion teacher and now you guide people into this dance. What is Soul Motion designed for? Soul Motion is a conscious dance practice and it is mainly based on the belief that mindful movements can lead us back to our real self. We move to very varied music and to the subtle verbal guidance of the teacher and are completely free in our movements. No steps to follow, no limits, nothing is wrong, nothing is right. all is possible. It is about BEING, not DOING. Soul Motion is a dance meditation and gives us the possiblity to explore and experiment our expression and reconnect to our body and through it to our soul. Working with different tools we can go further as in Nia and work on our habits and believes and finally can change them through our insights we experienced in the dance. I love this quote from my teacher Vinn Arjuna Martí, the creator of Soul Motion "It's about our mystery, not about our history." For me in this quote every thing Soul Motion offers is included. The Soul Motion training which you recently finished is called the "Leadership Program". You mentioned, this was life changing for you… Why, how can Soul Motion be a life changing dance? It is not easy to find words for what happens in a Soul Motion session, it is somehow beyond explanations and logic. In my experience Soul Motion is a very intense and powerful practice and I feel like coming home every time I am in a Soul Motion session. I feel supported in a loving way, I don´t have to hide, I resonate with the space and the other dancers and I just can be ME. And so I can open myself to something new... In the Leadership Program I discovered and developed a new meaning of self responsibility, I could strengthen my abilities and first of all refound the trust in myself. It was life changing as I´m coming back to my body more and more, I can leave much easier thoughts and worries behind and go quickly into relaxation and trust. Fears are getting smaller and my authenticity can grow. This is a wonderful evolution in my life. As Soul Motion is designed not only as a practice on the dance floor but as well off the dance floor, I can really sense a transformation in my awareness in my everyday life. Life is a lot easier since I dance Soul Motion. Ah, and pleasure and life joy came back as well! Dancing might be older than Yoga and both can be a deep spiritual experience. I imagine that the step is bigger for somebody to go to your dance class than to a Yoga class. And you know why? In my eyes it is very intimate… am I right? Yes, dance is a very intimate process and we are especially working with that. One of the four landscapes in Soul Motion is the Dance Intimate, the dance with yourself, the dance behind your eyes. This is the dance you move only with yourself, your necessities, your exploration. Nothing else counts. I love this dance as it allows me to deeply connect with myself regardless of what is going on around me. It´s an invitation and sooooo relaxing. In the Mindful Movement classes which I'm offering right now at Yerbabuena we are only moving in this Dance Intimate, one hour long and it is the perfect beginning for those who want to dance but maybe don't dare to show up or were told that they cannot dance. Every body is good enough and every body is necessary! In another class format, the Odyssey, we can open up to one other and then to the group, all in a safe space and in a loving way and - first of all - without any "must". Do you remember? All is possible. You decide. Oh day, arise! The longer I am diving into this topic, the more I want to participate in your next classes! Where can we dance with you? In September we will begin again with our weekly Mindful Movement classes at Yerbabuena. Every Monday at 19 h till 20.30 h. The music starts at 18.45 h and I recommend to come with time in order to start with in a relaxed and mindful way. And the monthly Sunday Morning Dance Labs at Lucky Bodies & Happy Souls will start again the first Sunday in October. For more informations please check out www.dance-space-mallorca.com or call me at 616.571481. And: there is something in preparation I cannot talk about yet but it will be wonderful, I promise! And out of interest: What was your profession before becoming a Nia & Soul Motion Dance Teacher? Was there an initial point in your life that brought you there? I am an interior designer and I help to create homes for people’s bodies . And in my dance I help to create homes in people’s bodies. It is funny as during a long time I sensed a big contrast between my interior design and my dance but now diving deeper into my life purpose there is no contradiction anymore. I’m doing both and I’m very happy with it. Ah... the initial point to start dancing: at a certain - not very happy - point in my life I imagined that i can only move something when I am moving my body. So i was open to be guided and all started.... You are thankful for… the flow I’m moving in more and more... the teachers in my daily life and in my dance... the fulfilling connection to inspiring people around the world... being brave enough to show up... And when those turn into friendship, I feel blessed. In january this year I met Maria & family at Parc de la Mar in Palma. Her son is the same age as my daughter Ellie, which was our first "common feature". But very quickly I knew that we are on the same road - since then our similar mentality takes us regularly to creative and spirited mind excursions. And here we are now, facing eight questions and their beautiful answers :-)Interview with Maria Hibbs, photographer, mother, wife & life lover. Maria, I am happy to know you. There is a very nice connection between us - the babies, our love for vegan cooking, our creative minds, yoga practice, … Do you believe in the law of attraction? I'm so happy we met as well! The law of attraction, yes I definitely believe in that. Although deep down I am more of the melancholic type than I like to be I try to focus on the positive, on being happy, on staying healthy. I also believe in making my own path and in being the director of my own life. This mindset has lead to many great experiences and connections in my life and most recently it put me here on this very island. Over the last 10 years you have lived in Texas with you husband Steven Hibbs. Born in Germany, how is it to be back in Europe? You chose a beautiful new home for your family: Mallorca! Why this? It's amazing to be back in Europe! My husband and I have talked about moving for years and knew the time had finally come when our son was born. Our hearts and minds were set on raising him in Europe before he was even conceived. Mallorca had initially not been on our radar. We always talked about moving to Berlin but soon decided that the grey and dull winters were not for us. So one day we sat in front of a world map and searched for a sunny place with an overall good quality of life that would put us closer to my family in Germany. Our fingers landed on Mallorca. Neither of us had been before so we came for a little over a week and fell in love with the beauty and serenity of this island. A year later we became residents! You are vegan since 11 years now. What was your intention to go vegan? And what do you think about the actual Vegan Boom? This is a really simple to answer question yet most people are not ready to hear the truth. To say it with Jane Goodall's words: "We are not the only beings on the planet with personalities, minds and feelings." Once this truth enters your brain and manifests in your heart there is no other choice but to be vegan. You will know that eating meat and dairy is not a personal choice. I became a vegetarian practically overnight at 14 and read a lot about the meat industry, animal testing, furs and other forms of commonly accepted animal abuse. It scarred me for life. I knew I did not to participate in this madness any longer. There was no turning back only shedding more and more layers of participation in this macabre habit of (ab)using animals for my personal enjoyment. It still took me another 10 years to finally go vegan. It's been a fulfilling journey and it is nice to see so many people following their hearts as well and meeting me on this path. The "Vegan Boom" is an interesting phenomenon. It has raised tremendous awareness and needless to say it makes me very happy. In case you are still on the fence on becoming a vegan, check out the brilliant Vegan Sidekick on Facebook or Instagram (@vegansidekick). You are mummy of a 1-year-old boy. What kind of family lifestyle do you prefer to live? I just saw you in the Wildling, The Journal for free-spirited families! I never thought I would refer to my family as free-spirited but that is probably the best way to describe our idea of family life. We question the rules, the beaten path of parenting, the educational system. We want to raise a world citizen, a kind and compassionate human who is able to see the bigger picture and is not just another consumer.
